This device would be also useful for the visually impaired, actually my friend who is blind uses this device to read his text messages. Also, people who cannot read and are quite old enough to learn how to read will benefit from this as well.

Are you from the Tuesday class? I don't remember this presentation in the Thursday class. Anyways, how does this work for the deaf? Is there an LCD of some sort that prints out the words. It looks pretty interesting and sounds like a device for the blind. I am a visual and tactile person to understand something like this. Thanks for the info. Lois
