E-Books on Apple Devices

Shaking up the nascent market for electronic books for the second time in two months, Amazon.com will begin selling e-books for reading on Apple’s popular iPhone and iPod Touch. Amazon says its Kindle 2, above, and devices like Apple’s iPhone and iPod are complementary.

Starting Wednesday, owners of these Apple devices can download a free application, Kindle for iPhone and iPod Touch, from Apple’s App Store. The software will give them full access to the 240,000 e-books for sale on Amazon.com, which include a majority of best sellers.

I think it is great Apple is doing that.. but I don't favor it that much.. the letters will strain my eyes more.. I am sure lot of young kids will enjoy that... thanks for sharing!

Wow! No more carrying that heavy load of boooooks. So what's the catch? Kindle 2 is very handy, but cost us arms and legs for price of whooping 2 grand or more. Sorry, I am an avid reader, but can't afford this one.

Thanks for information shared.

Great news for the techno-breeds indeed, still that free download to the software is a scary choice for now with that 'worm' on the prowl, did u all hear about it? Latest news I heard was from CNN. Should one take an offer for free download of software, the worm may infest and reap all info and may cause destruction to one's life.

Wow! I have heard about this and see it often on different website advertisements. I own an i-touch and I'm very curious as to downloading or purchasing this application-then again, I don't read very often. ^_^
