"What's My Word?" youtube video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5ISjuNjeJc&NR=1

This is one good way to teach a child words as well as having the child identifying the word. This process helps them both say the word and know what it is.

Question: What do you think about this technique? Do you think this technique will work on all ages of individuals with speech impairment? why or why not?

Cool, I think it is important that not only a child learn how to enunciate or pronounce words correctly, but to also be cognizant of the words they are learning to say. It makes sense to me. ^_^

It is brilliant idea to start teaching young children to read. The mother of the child is not just saying the word but also sounding out the letter and the child raise his finger. Also, show and tell is perfect for young children.

The time taken to teach this strategy will be appreciated forever in the individual's lifetime. I immediately sent it to my daughter, although at 28 and no plans for children it is a gem of an idea to pass on to others, thank you Dr. Cyrus.

Amazing! I'd love the idea of teaching children how to read early on. As a mother/teacher and a second language learner, I had a handful of teaching and learning to do to myself and my children. I read to my daughter and son even before they were born. I simply place my hand on top of my stomach and read a story. I was thinking that perhaps when they grow up they will develop the LOVE of reading. Introducing them to words early, it will enhance literacy skills. Lastly, if they were introduced to words on a very young age, they will articulate words properly.
Excellent tools to use in the classroom to enhance reading skills for struggling readers/learners. I have student that are reading beyond lowest of the low. Thank you for sharing information.
